US actor Finn, who appeared in beloved programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable Television Career

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
