Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
