Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
